Repair of 0.4/35 kV transformers for solar power plants

Commercial solar power plants are an energy source and usually require relatively uncomplicated maintenance. But technical problems sometimes occur even with such objects. A feature of the operation of solar power plants is the fact that every day of downtime will bring significant losses when operating at a “green” tariff. That is why the prompt identification of the cause of the failure and its quick elimination is critical.

Avenston provides the widest range of services in the field of solar energy. We are not limited only to the construction of solar power plants, but we also offer powerful support at all stages. In November and December 2020, our specialists organized a series of repair works for 0.4/35 kV transformer substations, which functioned with some problems. In it, 1250 kVA and 1600 kVA transformers were used. Its were manufactured in Turkey, which made it difficult to quickly carry out repair work. But the good work of all participants made it possible to perform the service as soon as possible.

List of works that have been performed:

  • Technical analysis of the causes of malfunction of transformer substations;
  • Urgent construction of unpaved driveways required for moving heavy trucks, as well as dismounting and installing transformers from and to the transformer substations;
  • Dismantling of transformers and their delivery to the repair shop;
  • Disassembly of transformers, removal of casings, oil drain;
  • Drying of the equipment in a special drying chamber;
  • Laboratory analysis and subsequent purification of transformer oil;
  • Revision of functional units of transformers and their maintenance;
  • Equipment assembly and laboratory testing of live transformers;
  • Performing a complex of electrical measurements;
  • Transportation and installation of transformers on site
  • Commissioning of transformer equipment.

Now the repaired and serviced KTPs are operating normally, and Avenston’s specialists monitor their work around the clock. Scheduled and unscheduled repairs are one of the components of our company’s services for the operation and maintenance of solar power plants.

Cooperative Solar Farms

People interested in harvesting the sun’s energy, can now participate in a unique program – the Sol Partners Cooperative Solar Farm. One of the major advantages of the program is that United Power will maintain the solar farm – the customer only pays for the cost of the panel. It is anticipated that one 210 watt panel will produce about a 3% return on its investment or approximately $32 per year in electricity credits.
