Novopetrivka Solar Power Plant

Utility-Scale Solar EPC Case Study

The Novopetrivka Solar Power Plant (also known as Umitli-2 Solar Power Plant) is a utility-scale photovoltaic project located in the Dnipropetrovsk region of Ukraine. The project was implemented by Avenston for Turkish investor Ümitli Enerji as part of a multi-project solar energy portfolio developed in Ukraine.

With an installed capacity of 6.5 MW, Novopetrivka became the second solar power plant delivered for the investor and represented the next stage in the expansion of the partnership following the successful implementation of the Chumaky Solar Power Plant.

The project reflects Avenston’s practical experience in delivering utility-scale renewable energy assets for international investors.

Project Overview

  • Project Name: Novopetrivka Solar Power Plant
  • Alternative Name: Umitli-2 Solar Power Plant
  • Location: Dnipropetrovsk Region, Ukraine
  • Technology: Ground-Mounted Solar PV
  • Installed Capacity: 6.5 MW
  • Investor: Ümitli Enerji (Türkiye)
  • Status: Operational
  • Commissioning Year: 2019

Avenston’s Role

Avenston participated in the implementation of the project across multiple stages, including:

  • project management;
  • engineering and design;
  • procurement coordination;
  • construction management;
  • grid connection support;
  • commissioning activities;
  • operational support.

The project required coordination among the investor, equipment suppliers, contractors, grid operators, and local stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and commissioning.

Project Significance

Novopetrivka represented the second phase of cooperation between Avenston and Ümitli Enerji in Ukraine.

The successful implementation of the project demonstrated the scalability of the partnership model and contributed to the further expansion of the investor’s renewable energy portfolio in Ukraine.

Together with the Chumaky and Katerynivka solar power plants, Novopetrivka became part of a solar portfolio exceeding 25 MW of installed capacity.

The project further strengthened Avenston’s experience in delivering renewable energy projects for international investors operating in the Ukrainian market.

Experience and Expertise

Projects such as Novopetrivka demonstrate Avenston’s practical experience in:

  • utility-scale solar project implementation;
  • project development and structuring;
  • engineering and construction management;
  • grid connection processes;
  • stakeholder coordination;
  • renewable energy asset operations.

The experience accumulated through projects of this scale enables Avenston to support renewable energy investors and developers throughout the project lifecycle.
