Weligen & Weliton Solar Portfolio

Utility-Scale Solar Development, RTB Transaction & Technical Advisory Case Study

This portfolio showcases experience in the development, commercialisation, and technical support of utility-scale photovoltaic projects throughout the investment lifecycle—from greenfield development and RTB transactions to technical advisory during project implementation.

The projects were developed by companies within the former Rentechno Group, which originated the projects, prepared them for RTB transactions, completed their sale to a strategic investor, and subsequently provided technical advisory services during implementation.

With a combined installed capacity of 9.2 MWp, the Weligen and Weliton projects formed part of the nearly 58 MWp renewable energy development pipeline developed by the team, demonstrating practical experience in renewable energy development, investment transactions, and owner-side technical support.

This portfolio illustrates the team’s ability to create investment-ready renewable energy projects and continue supporting investors during project delivery.

Portfolio Highlights

• Two utility-scale solar power plants
• 9.2 MWp total installed capacity
• Greenfield Development → RTB Transaction → Technical Advisory
• Part of a 58 MWp renewable energy development pipeline
• RTB project companies successfully sold to a strategic investor
• Owner-side technical support during implementation
• Successfully commissioned under Ukraine's Feed-in Tariff (FIT)

Development Experience

Companies within the former Rentechno Group participated throughout the project development process, including project origination, land acquisition, permitting, grid connection development, engineering coordination, feasibility studies, investment structuring, preparation of RTB project companies for investment transaction, and their successful sale to a strategic investor.

This experience demonstrates the team’s ability to transform early-stage renewable energy concepts into investment-ready assets attractive to institutional investors.

Technical Advisory During Implementation

Following the completion of the investment transaction, construction was carried out by contractors selected by the investor. Companies within the former Rentechno Group remained involved by providing technical advisory services throughout key implementation stages, ensuring continuity between project development and commercial operation.

Technical advisory services covered project development support, feasibility studies, land and grid permitting, pre-design surveys, engineering coordination, supervision of grid connection works, and assistance with licensing and Feed-in Tariff approval.

This continuity helped ensure efficient project execution while preserving the technical knowledge accumulated during the development phase.

Strategic Significance

The Weligen & Weliton Portfolio represents one of the flagship renewable energy development programmes delivered by the former Rentechno Group.

Unlike projects where the team subsequently served as the EPC contractor, this portfolio demonstrates its capability to continue supporting strategic investors as a technical advisor following the completion of the RTB transaction. The portfolio demonstrates practical expertise across the entire renewable energy project lifecycle—from greenfield project development and investment structuring to transaction execution, owner-side technical advisory, regulatory approvals, grid connection, and successful commercial operation.
