We invite you to CISOLAR&SEF-2020

Avenston will be the Megawatt sponsor of the CISOLAR&SEF-2020 solar energy conference and exhibition in Central and Eastern Europe, which will will take place in Kiev on October 20-22.

CISOLAR&SEF-2020 is the only event focused on the emerging solar energy markets in Europe. Over the past nine years, CISOLAR has been gathering market participants whose interests are related to solar energy projects. This year’s event will bring together industry leaders, equipment suppliers and contractors from 30 countries. SEF&CISOLAR-2020 as a joint forum will be held for three days online and one day offline in Kiev (Fairmont Hotel). The Forum has a common history with the formation of renewable energy as an industry in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, and for many years has developed as an international serial platform (in parallel, taking place in a number of countries in Eastern Europe and the CIS).

The topic of the presentation by Avenston this year will be devoted to the most promising direction of development of the solar energy market in Ukraine in an unstable current situation – the construction of rooftop solar power plants for their own needs of commercial facilities.Recent legislative changes make projects using the «green» tariff risky and difficult to predict. But, the use of solar electricity for our own is already more and more economically attractive.

Ukraine is located in a region favorable for the construction of solar power plants with a sufficient level of solar insolation, even in the northern regions of the country. In 8 months of 2020, the share of renewable energy increased to 13.3% against 8.9% in the same period in 2019.

How to choose solar PV modules (solar panels)?

The solar panel is the most important and, at the same time, the most expensive component in any photovoltaic system. The successful and long-term profitable operation of the solar PV station largely depends on its reliability, durability and efficiency.

Is it possible a complete transition of Ukraine to renewable?

A lively global debate continues in maintaining a balance between fossil fuels and nuclear energy, on the one hand, and renewable sources such as hydropower, solar, wind, geothermal and biomass, on the other.

Solar forecasting in Ukraine

Weather systems result in strong variability in the available solar radiation across the day. This means that solar plant power output is impacted, with strong changes in energy generation across the day. As Ukraine adds more solar energy to its electricity grid, it is becoming important to predict these changes in energy generation from hours to days ahead.
