Electricity storage systems for solar power plants

Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are among the most promising technologies in the modern energy sector and have the potential to become key elements of future energy infrastructure. For commercial and industrial consumers, they offer not only energy cost optimisation but also improved business resilience, better integration of renewable energy sources and support for the development of distributed generation.

Avenston Innovation Center has launched research into Energy Storage Systems that can be integrated with small and medium-scale solar PV installations. Our engineers are evaluating technologies and equipment for uninterruptible power supply systems ranging from 5 to 100 kW. These solutions will operate alongside solar PV systems, enabling consumers to maximise self-consumption or export surplus electricity to the grid. The first pilot ESS installation is planned for the first half of 2022, while commercial deployment is expected to begin by the end of the year.

Since 2010, the Avenston Group has been implementing solar energy projects, providing a full range of services from engineering and equipment supply to construction, commissioning and long-term operation and maintenance. The company’s portfolio includes grid-connected, hybrid and off-grid solar PV systems, including projects incorporating Energy Storage Systems (ESS) and battery backup solutions. Avenston has successfully delivered dozens of solar power plants with a total installed capacity exceeding 50 MW.

Today, the combination of solar PV generation and energy storage is increasingly viewed as a single integrated solution. The integration of these technologies creates new opportunities to enhance energy resilience, expand commercial distributed generation and implement investment projects focused on modern energy infrastructure.
