Сheap electricity by solar

The current prices for photovoltaic equipment (solar modules, inverters, etc.) and the climatic conditions of Ukraine make it possible to obtain cheap and environmentally friendly electricity using solar power plants. For enterprises that will consume their own solar electricity for self-consumption, the cost of such electricity will be about UAH 1 per kWh for at least the next 25 years. Taking into account the current prices for traditional electricity from the grid and forecasts of its growth, investments in own solar power plants are very profitable, and the payback period often does not exceed 4 years.

The cost of solar electricity

The cost of electricity to be generated from a solar power plant depends on its type, capacity, parameters and the cost of equipment, and the location of the facility. In addition, the actual price of solar electricity is affected by additional options. For a basic solar power plant (on-grid without batteries and power flows to the external grid), the cost of electricity that will be generated during 25 years of its operation does not exceed $0.04. Exact calculations we will provide on request after studying the input data and clarifying customer requirements.

The return on investment is also significantly affected by the current level of payments for traditional electricity and the dynamics of their increase. On average in Ukraine, for legal entities, investment in their solar power plant pays off in the first 4 years of its operation or even faster. The project has a lifetime of 25 years, which makes such investments very attractive and efficient. Fixing energy costs has a long-term positive effect and significantly increases the competitiveness of your business.

Advantages of own solar power plant

With the help of Avenston solar solutions, your business will be able to replace the consumption of expensive traditional electricity. Savings can be 70-90% in spring and summer and 15-20% in autumn and winter. The total annual effect is to reduce consumption by about 30-50% per year, depending on the specifics of work at your company. The corresponding percentage of electricity consumption will be independent of the constant rise in electricity prices. In addition, with the help of its solar power plant, businesses can get additional capacity for their own needs and protect themselves from the instability of the energy networks of suppliers. Especially efficient use of solar panels for companies that consume a significant amount of electricity in daylight, or increase consumption from April to October.

From a technical point of view, the installation of a solar power plant does not have any negative impact on the company’s existing internal power grid. If necessary, it is possible to expand the capacity of the solar power plant or the phased implementation of the project in turn. Solar panels can be installed on the roofs of existing buildings, on their facades, on available ground areas, or special structures (eg car parks). The solar farm can be designed to work exclusively for the needs of the enterprise with zero generation in the external grid. If necessary, our solutions can be upgraded with electricity storage systems, can transfer part of the generated energy to the external grid or vice versa – be completely autonomous for the power supply of remote or autonomous facilities that cannot connect to a grid.

Solar module manufacturers offer a 25-year performance warranty as standard. After the expiration of the specified period, the PV modules continue to generate at least 80% of their initial power. Thus, it can be confidently asserted that there is no compelling economic reason for their decommissioning after 25 or even 30 years. For standard lines of modern solar modules from Tier-1 manufacturers, a lifetime of about 35 years is economically viable. The more long service life of up to 50 years is possible when using highly efficient solar modules with an annual degradation of no more than 0.2%.
